\nThis is the goal of \"SEAcurity. La sicurezza del cittadino sulla costa e sul mare - Citizen safety on the coast and at sea,\" the project promoted by the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management of the Puglia Region, in collaboration with the Department of Civil Protection, the Coast Guard and the ASBA, the Italian Association of Bathing Establishments. The project is being presented today, June 14, at the Conference Room of the Hotel Terme in Margherita di Savoia (BT), the pilot municipality of the initiative.
\nThe following representatives will be present at the event: Bernardo Lodispoto, the Mayor of Margherita di Savoia; Nicola Lopane, the Director of the Regional Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management; Vincenzo Leone, the Maritime Director of Puglia and Ionian Basilicata; Antonino Indelicato, the Commander of the Barletta Port Authority; Antonio Capacchione, the President of ASBA; and Titti Postiglione, the Deputy Head of Department.
\nDuring the first training event, the beach establishment managers of the city, along with regional Civil Protection officials and I don't take risks volunteers, explored various risks faced by the area, such as sea storms, thunderstorms, floods, and tsunamis. They also learned about the correct behaviors to adopt during emergencies to ensure their safety and that of others.
\nThe \"SEAcurity\" project will establish two I don't take risks information points on the Margherita di Savoia waterfront on June 15, July 13, and August 8. Volunteers will be available to inform citizens about the natural phenomena affecting the area and the measures to reduce the risk. Additionally, QR codes will be displayed at beach establishments linking to a page on the Civil Protection of the Puglia Region's website. This page will feature daily bulletins of criticality, alert messages, protective actions, and advice from the Coast Guard-Port Authority on responsible behavior at sea and the beaches.
